Pregnancy Yoga

🗓️ Tuesdays, 6pm – 7.30pm
📍 Karinya Yoga, off Lairgate, Beverley

🗓️ Wednesdays, 1pm – 2.30pm
📍 Yoga Studio, Princes Avenue, Hull

The sessions are carefully woven to help expectant mothers feel stretched out, strong and calm for a positive experience throughout pregnancy and birth.

During a class, we practice asana (yoga postures), other movements, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditations, affirmations and mindfulness to lead us back to the innate wisdom of the female body.

It’s a lovely way to meet other mums-to-be, exchange advice and feel supported whilst fostering a deep connection with your baby.

The classes are suitable from 14 weeks pregnant and for beginners to yoga, as well as those who have practised before.

How this class will support you during pregnancy

Through gentle postures, breathing techniques, mindfulness and meditation, this class is designed to help ease common pregnancy challenges, including pelvic girdle pain, cramps, sciatica, anxiety, emotional ups and downs, sleep difficulties, tension and low energy.

Everything you learn – breathing techniques, affirmations, or mindful movement – can be carried with you into birth and motherhood, providing you with tools for ongoing support.

Suitable for: from 14 weeks pregnant and for beginners to yoga, as well as those who have practised before.

Meet your teacher

I have been teaching yoga since 2019 and began specialising in Pregnancy Yoga in 2024 after completing the Pregnancy Yoga and Mindfulness for Pregnancy and Birth teacher training with senior yoga teacher, doula and perinatal expert Nadia Raafat. This comprehensive, FEDANT-approved course sparked a deep passion in me for supporting women to trust the innate wisdom of their bodies through the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

In 2025, I will be deepening my expertise with additional training in Hypnobirthing, Yoga Nidra for Pregnancy, Postnatal Yoga and Mindfulness and volunteer Doula work.  Continuing her commitment to providing holistic and compassionate support to women at every stage of their journey.

“My labour ended up being quite long. I was having regular, strong contractions that would suggest I was in established labour. However, frequent vaginal examinations showed my cervix wasn’t dilating. After a day or so, I was recommended and agreed to have continuous monitoring and use the hormone drip to help progress things. Eventually, we got to meet our gorgeous baby boy! The gentle movements, breathing and visualisations we practised with Kim were all so helpful throughout my labour to keep me focused and calm during all the uncertainty. Thanks again, Kim!”
